Amman Arab University Student Represents the University at the Second Buklan Camp for Climate Justice As part of Amman Arab University’s ongoing efforts to enhance student engagement in global issues and developmental initiatives, student Islam Abu Al-Asal participated in the Second Buklan Camp for Climate Justice for Jordanian Youth. The camp was organized by the Buklan Foundation for Development in cooperation with the Royal Scientific Society and supported by the Regional Center for Energy and Climate Justice for the Middle East and North Africa, affiliated with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The camp aimed to shed light on key contemporary environmental issues and discuss ways to adapt to the impacts of climate change through a series of interactive workshops and dialogue sessions. These activities aimed to raise youth awareness of their active role in addressing environmental challenges, as well as to discuss international agreements related to climate action and build the participants' capacities to contribute to shaping fair and sustainable environmental policies. Participants received a range of knowledge and skills related to climate justice and presented climate-related projects. Their participation over three consecutive days reflected their desire to make a positive impact for the environment.

The participation of student Islam Abu Al-Asal in this event reflects Amman Arab University’s commitment to encouraging students to engage in social and environmental issues and to providing opportunities for them to be part of national and global efforts toward a more sustainable future. It is worth noting that Amman Arab University had previously participated in the first Buklan training camp through student Judy Al-Saber. The Buklan Camp for Climate Justice for Jordanian Youth is an annual initiative that brings together youth from across Jordan’s governorates to empower them with a deeper understanding of climate change and environmental justice. Organized by the Buklan Foundation for Development, the multi-day camp includes workshops, dialogue sessions, and presentations featuring environmental experts and young activists. The camp aims to build a network of youth capable of influencing environmental policies at the local and national levels by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote climate justice and actively engage in developmental initiatives.
